Who is God? What is He Like?

Introduction

God is knowable. God is so great we cannot fully explain Him.

Who is God?

The Problem: God defies definition.

The Westminster Confession gives this definition: There is only one living and true God. Who is infinite in being and perfection, a completely pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts or emotions, unchangeable, immensely vast, eternal, limitless, almighty, completely wise, completely holy, completely free, and completely absolute.

What is God like?

God has revealed himself through His attributes.

Attribute of God: Something that is true of God, a distinguishing characteristic. God's attributes distinguish Him from anyone else.
