During
the Civil War Dawson Cooley served in the 26th Regiment Light Artillery, Ohio
Vols. His occupation when he enlisted was a farmer. He lived in
Beaver County, PA and then East Liverpool, Ohio for thirty-six years where he
was a grocer. At his death he was living in Columbus, Ohio near his
daughter Caroline. (Much of the following information is from his Civil
