William B. Bonnett (1774 – 1858) – William Bonnett was born on September 14, 1774 in Hampshire County, (now West Virginia), the son of Samuel and Mary Elizabeth Bonnett. He married Barbara Harpold on March 3, 1799. They had twelve children. His daughter, Elizabeth married Isaac Newton Flesher. They were pioneers, moving from Harrison County to Mill Creek, at Ripley, in Jackson County, West Virginia. He was one of the first to build a log cabin in the heart of Jackson County along with Thomas Carney and George Castro, Sr. William Bonett died on July 10, 1858, in Jackson County.[1]
